It’s a widely established fact that the New Orleans Center for Creative Arts is the coolest high school in America, if not the world (full disclosure: I am an alumus). That’s why it was so great to see that Stephen Colbert and his Late Show bandleader–NOCCA grad Jon Batiste–dropped by the school during last year’s fruitful trip to New Orleans. The pair met with Batiste’s old jazz insructor Michael Pellera, who gave Colbert a quick lesson before the comedian tried his hand at some improvisation of his own. Check out the segment below.
