According to manager Cat Tallon, new material by Michael Ray and the Cosmic Krewe has been found and is being readied for release. Ray lost his home to post-Katrina flooding, and with it, any memorabilia and other traces of activity he had. When Ray was back in town to play dates at Zeitgeist during last year’s Jazz Fest period, guitarist Andrew McLean gave Ray a suitcase of digital audio tapes – DATs – of sessions the band recorded in 2002 when Ray was recovering from a knee injury. Now, Ray is in the process of editing, winnowing and finishing the tracks for release in 2010. Here are two songs slated for the upcoming album; the first is a rearrangement of a song from Monty Python’s Meaning of Life:
