Saturday, September 24, the New Orleans Fair Grounds plays host to the Street Fare Derby, a one-of-a-kind food extravaganza that features tasty treats from over 15 local food trucks and pop-up vendors. The event, presented by NOLAFoodTrucks.com, celebrates the city’s emergent street food scene.

Participating food vendors include: BBQ n Some, The Big Cheesy, The Burrito Juke Joint, La Cocinita, Crepes a la Cart, Empanada Intifada, Fork in the Road, Fresh Junkie, The Fry Bar, Geaux Plates, Lola Deux, Melt Down Popsicles, Peace Love + Snowballs, Streats McGee, Woody’s Fish Tacos, and Ms. Linda’s Yakamein.
The festivities will take place from 12:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., with musical guest Papa Grows Funk and Kermit Ruffins and the BBQ Swingers on hand to spice up the afternoon. Tickets are $15 at the gate or $10 online if purchased by Friday, September 23. Special VIP tickets, which allow for early entry and include a free t-shirt, $15 worth of food tickets, and reserved parking are available for $40.
