New Orleans Musicians For Obama To Host Fundraiser with Trombone Shorty, Dr. John and More

New Orleans Musicians for Obama

With President Barack Obama up for reelection this November, a fundraising concert has been planned for Tuesday, May 1 by the group “New Orleans Musicians for Obama” with a local star-studded lineup that includes Trombone Shorty, Dr. John, Irvin Mayfield, Marcia Ball, Kermit Ruffins, members of the Meters, and many more.

Falling on the Tuesday between Jazz Fest weekends, the show will likely attract many Fest visitors who support Obama, and will take advantage of the many touring musicians back at home for the festival. Tickets went on sale today, with regular admission at $50 and VIP tickets going for $200. Proceeds from the fundraiser will be given to Obama For America, the president’s primary campaign fund.
