Adopt-An-Instrument returns with performance by T-Ray the Violinist

Make Music Nola’s Annual-Adopt-An-Instrument  Drive is returning for its third year at Urban South Brewery on Nov. 7.

Gearing up for its ninth year, MMN has provided tuition-free music instruction for the past decade. This year, enrollment in MMN’s string program has grown, leading the organization to raise funds for the purchase of supplementary instruments (quarter size violins and cellos). Over the past year, MMN classes have grown by over 80 students, with 170 students currently enrolled.

Violinist and former MMN instructor Trenton Thomas, otherwise known as T-Ray the Violinist, will perform from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. backed by a group of advanced MMN students. Those in attendance will be asked to make a small monthly contribution to MMN. Raffle tickets will also be available for purchase, with a variety of cool prizes ranging from Southwest Airline plane ticket vouchers and BlueRunner gift packs to Studio BE tickets. Urban South and Gulf Coast Crawfish will donate a portion of their food and beverage sales to Adopt-An-Instrument Drive.

The Adopt-An-Instrument event will take place from 6 to 9 p.m. Urban South Brewery is located at 1645 Tchoupitoulas St. Adopt-An-Instrument is open to all ages. To purchase raffle tickets or donate to Adopt-An-Instrument, visit the MMN website, here. For more information about the event, click here.
