Ahh…the name is Bootsy, Baby! Tonight Bootsy Collins plays Tipitina’s with DJ Soul Sister as part of his first United States tour since 1998. The James Brown/Parliament/Funkadelic/Bootsy’s Rubber Band bass player is bringing with him a crack backing band, Funk Unity, made up of P-Funk stalwarts, some of whom, like Bernie Worrell on keys or Frankie Kash on drums, were likely playing at this 1976 concert in Houston.
