Zigaboo, Trombone Shorty Help Re:Generation

Recently, Preservation Hall played host to a late night show with producer Mark Ronson, Zigaboo Modeliste, Erykah Badu, Trombone Shorty and members of the Dap-Kings. The occasion was the wrap of the recording session for Ronson’s part of the Re:Generation project, which features DJs collaborating with high-profile musicians to make a track in a given genre. DJ Premier works to create a classical track, and Pretty Lights works with Ralph Stanley and Leanne Rimes to create a country track. The project also features Crystal Method and Skrillex. Ronson’s task was working with New Orleans jazz, and the resulting track, “A La Modeliste” has just been released as a video:

This video is the official trailer for a feature-length documentary of the project and includes fleet glimpses of footage shot at Preservation Hall. The documentary is planned for a Spring 2012 release.
