Bayou Weekend Get-Away: T-Bois Blues Festival in LaRose, LA April 5 – 6

Though it’s nominally a blues festival, T-Bois offers a wide range of Louisiana music including swamp rock (Honey Island Swamp Band), alternative rock (Gravy Flavored Kisses), singer-songwriters (Mia Borders, Kristin Diable), plus blues-based artists Anders Osborne, Colin Lake, Johnny Sansone, Alvin Youngblood Hart and more.

There will also be camping available and libations from NOLA Brewery. If the venue doesn’t sound familiar, it’s because organizer Alligator Mike presents the fest on his own family property – in fact, it will be Alligator Mike’s ma that greets you and collects your tickets at the gate. Heck, Mike might even wrassle a gator for you and throw em on the grill or in the giant crawfish boil pots abounding all weekend!

Plus, this year’s Burning Bayou event will be an arts village hosted by the New Orleans Burning Man Community.  Burning Bayou will feature a camping village with Theme Camps, interactive art exhibits, live performances, music, community awareness and artistic activities.

Music begins at 1pm on April 5 and runs to 11:30pm, then again from 10am – 2am on April 6.  You’ll probably need to spend Sunday driving back home and recovering from all that fun on the bayou!  T-Bois Blues Fest is located at Alligator Mike’s family property: 900 Hamilton St, Larose, LA. Tickets are $50 for Saturday admission, or $80 for an all-weekend pass with camping.
