YouTube Du Jour: Bombay Bicycle Club + Ticket Giveaway

Next Monday, October 8, London indie outfit Bombay Bicycle Club will play the House of Blues. In anticipation of the show, OffBeat and the HOB are giving away a pair of balcony tickets ($140 value). Bombay Bicycle Club is currently entering the final month of a North American junket, which will wrap up in Vancouver in three weeks. The English band initially made waves on the other side of the pond in 2006, winning Virgin Mobile’s “Road to V” competition. Since, the group has grown to into one of the UK’s top rock troupes; likewise, their lush, drifting melodies and echo-y, atmospheric lulls have steadily garnered fans the world over.

In 2010, Bombay Bicycle Club claimed NME Magazine’s coveted Best New Band award, and last summer the group released its third full-length album, A Different Kind of Fix, featuring the cut “How Can You Swallow So Much Sleep,” a song that you might recognize from the Twilight Saga’s second film, Eclipse, or this awesome claymation video:

The House of Blues is located at 225 Decatur Street in the French Quarter. Doors open at 7:00 p.m., and the show begins at 8:00. General admission tickets are $17, and balcony seats can be purchased for an additional $50. Attendees must be at least 18 years old to enter. Tickets are currently available through the HOB’s box office and website.
