Fete des Fromages Brings Cheese Wine and Music to the Mint

The French American Chamber of Commerce is bringing Fete des Fromages, a festival of cheeses, wines and music to the New Orleans Jazz Museum at the Mint, on Saturday, November 17, 2018.

The event will showcase an international array of cheese makers, importers and distributors. Among other products to sample there, a selection of French wine, craft beer, hard cider, spirits and specialty waters. Music will be provided by Bon Bon Vivant, Robin Barnes & the Fiya Birds, Eartha Kitt, and the Tumbling Wheels among others.

 

 

VIP ticket holders will be invited to Cheese 101 seminars hosted by Liz Thorpe, author of The Book of Cheese and The Cheese Chronicles. Other highlights will include chef demonstrations and booths presented by local restaurants serving cheesy specialties from across the region. Chef Alex Miles of Dijon, France, will host seminars on the history of the origin of cheese in France, paired with wines.

Fete des Fromages will take place from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. General admission Early bird tickets are available until October 15 at $25 for adults (ages 17+) and $10 for children (ages 4-16); 3 and under free; after Oct. 15, $30 for adults and $12 for children. VIP tickets range from $65 to $125 with various props.
