New Orleans icon Mr. Okra has been a selling produce out of his colorful trucks for decades and is well known to locals and visitors alike. Unfortunately, recent health issues have kept him from working, which has affected his ability to pay for produce, as well as expensive repairs for his truck. In order to help him with some of these costs, a friend has launched a GoFundMe campaign aimed at raising some funds for him. According to its page, all of the money is going directly to his bank account and a video update will be posted next week. As of press time, the fundraiser has pulled in $6,611 and has already helped him catch up on his produce bills.
