Who: Bob Andrews & Friends
Where: Circle Bar (map)
When: 6:00 p.m.
Why: Mild-mannered Englishman Bob Andrews is no doubt a modern-day master of the New Orleans piano, but beneath his cool demeanor lies new wave super hero — a founding member of the recently reunited genre pioneers Graham Parker & the Rumor. Guess which band has show in Philly tomorrow night? Fingers-crossed that some of Bob’s “friends” check into the Circle Bar tonight…

Who: Luke Winslow-King
Where: Three Muses (map)
When: 7:30 p.m.
Why: Winslow-King’s winsome charm and finespun melodies could garner the debonair gent the title: New Orleans’ Most Eligible Songwriter. His Thursday-night rendezvouses at Three Muses blend the blues of a bygone era into the easy-going beat of Frenchmen Street today.

Who: The Courtyard Kings
Where: Bacchanal (map)
When: 7:30 p.m.
Why: Schooled in the ways of Django Reinhardt, the force is strong within this gypsy-jazz Jedi band, which swings to the rhythms of a long time ago… as well as to the melodies of a galaxy far, far away.
