Musician and actor Creed Bratton is best known for playing the part of—well, Creed Bratton—on NBC’s popular sitcom The Office, which ran from 2005-2013. However, his time in the limelight began many decades earlier when he toured the world as guitarist for The Grass Roots, the psychedelic pop band known for late ‘60s hits like “Midnight Confessions” and “Let’s Live for Today.”
Bratton has put out three solo albums since joining the cast of The Office, and he continues to hit the road with his blend of music and comedy. Fortunately, his next outing will bring him to New Orleans’ Hi-Ho Lounge on Wednesday, May 10. Past tour stops have found Bratton performing alone with a guitar, while also telling hilarious stories about things like ingesting LSD and taking off his pants off during a Grass Roots concert at San Francisco’s famed Fillmore West venue.
You can pick up tickets to Bratton’s show at the Hi-Ho Lounge here, but don’t forget to check out this video of The Grass Roots performing “Let’s Live for Today” on a ‘60s television program (Bratton is the guitarist on the far left).
