Video: The Revivalists debut Chuck Berry cover in Chicago

Like damn near every rock band in existence, New Orleans-based septet The Revivalists owes a debt to pioneering guitarist Chuck Berry. And like countless other rock bands across the globe, they saw fit to honor the late, great master less than 12 hours after news of his death took the music world by storm.

The Revivalists’ tribute came on Saturday night at Chicago’s Concord Music Hall, where the band delivered their first known rendition of “Johnny B. Goode” during a sold out show. Naturally, a St. Patrick’s Day celebration was also in order, so the group also invited a bagpipe player (bagpipist? bagpiper?) to join them for a take on AC/DC’s “It’s A Long Way To The Top.”
