Tonight, Spike Lee’s new documentary If God is Willing and Da Creek Don’t Rise premieres at the Mahalia Jackson Theater for the Performing Arts, and it airs on HBO August 23 and 24. To promote the broadcast of Lee’s follow-up to When the Levees Broke, HBO has a poster up in Times Square featuring the Treme Brass Band’s Uncle Lionel Batiste. The same poster has been seen at a more modest scale atop taxis in New Orleans.
