Musician, band leader and conductor Jimmy Maxwell passed away on February 29, 2024, at the age of 70.

Maxwell was born in New Orleans, and was born into a musical family: he was the son of Edward Maxwell, a drummer with the René Louapre Society Orchestra, and his mother was a professional singer.
