Overdue Recognition

The National Endowment for the Arts recently unveiled the eleven recipients of the 2006 National Heritage Fellowships, the highest honor that the NEA bestows upon folk and traditional artists. Louisiana was represented by two of the honorees: legendary blues piano player Henry Gray, and New Orleans’ own Treme Brass Band.
