Proto-Drummer Roy Haynes Is “Not Most People”

Roy Haynes, one of the greatest drummers in jazz history, was born in Boston in 1925 and has provided the rhythms for such immortals as Charlie Parker, John Coltrane, Lester Young and Sarah Vaughan. In addition to his evening recital, Haynes will conduct a free student workshop at the CAC, commencing at 4 p.m.
