Les Cenelles are a group like no other. They are grounded in cultural ancestors and the soil under their feet, while elevating with a fresh sense of soul and purpose. These are no mere musicologists or by-the-book classical musicians. Their instruments are shovels, and they are digging for the people. This is timeless Creole music played by a contemporary string ensemble influenced beyond Louisiana and informed by the modern age.
