Acadia Parish Tourism Sponsors Wayne Toups at “Taste Louisiana in NYC”

Acadia Parish Tourism will sponsor Grammy Award–winning musician Wayne Toups as 11 renowned Louisiana chefs head to New York City for “Taste Louisiana,” a one-night-only culinary celebration on October 28 at Chelsea Market.

The event, part of a statewide tourism marketing campaign, is a collaboration between the Louisiana Travel Association, the Louisiana Office of Tourism, Acadia Parish Tourism, and the Louisiana Seafood Promotion & Marketing Board. Guests will enjoy dishes from some of Louisiana’s top chefs, sip on drinks featuring local brands, and dance to the music of Wayne Toups and David St. Romain.

“We are so excited to bring all of the bright flavors and vibrant culture of Louisiana to New York City at this year’s Taste Louisiana event,” said Chris Landry, Louisiana Travel Association president and CEO. “With 11 amazing chefs, award-winning musicians, and classic Louisiana hospitality, this is going to be a night to remember.”

Hailing from Crowley, Louisiana, in the heart of Acadia Parish, Wayne Toups has spent decades blending Cajun, Zydeco, R&B, and rock into his signature “Zydecajun” sound. A cultural ambassador for his home state, Toups continues to share the vibrant spirit of Louisiana with audiences around the world.

Representing every corner of the state, the participating chefs include Alon Shaya of Pomegranate Hospitality (New Orleans), a multiple James Beard Award winner and one of Southern Living’s “50 People Who Are Changing the South”; Maggie Scales, Executive Pastry Chef at Link Restaurant Group (New Orleans); Chase Raley of Parish Restaurant (Monroe–West Monroe); Lyle Broussard of Crying Eagle Brewing–Lakefront (Lake Charles); Nadia Burrell of NadieB’s Taste of HomeAh (Houma); Peter Cooke of Park Bistro (Lafayette); Russell Davis of Eliza Restaurant & Bar (Baton Rouge); Niema DiGrazia of Abby Singer’s Bistro (Shreveport–Bossier); Willie Gaspard, Executive Chef at Cypress Bayou Casino (Cajun Coast); Kim Kringlie of The Dakota Restaurant (Covington); and Kim Nuzum of Café Sydnie Mae (St. Martin Parish). Together, they bring an extraordinary range of Louisiana’s culinary traditions—from Cajun and Creole to contemporary Southern cuisine—to one of the nation’s premier food destinations.
