Coco Montoya to Perform at The Jazz & Blues Market Next Month

Award-winning, internationally renowned blues-rock guitarist, singer, and songwriter Coco Montoya will perform live at The Jazz & Blues Market in New Orleans on Wednesday, Oct. 22 at 7:30 p.m.

Mentored by the legendary “Master of the Telecaster,” Albert Collins, and shaped by a decade on the road with John Mayall, Montoya has developed a hard-edged sound and style uniquely his own. Since the release of his 1995 debut album—which earned him the Blues Music Award for Best New Artist—Montoya has remained a powerhouse in the blues world, celebrated for his inventive guitar work and passionate, hard-hitting vocals.

Montoya’s most recent release, Writing On The Wall (Alligator Records, 2023), has already been hailed by the artist as one of the best records of his career. For the first time on Alligator, Montoya brought his road-tested band into the studio with him, featuring acclaimed keyboardist and songwriter Jeff Paris (Keb’ Mo’, Bill Withers), bassist Nathan Brown, and drummer Rena Beavers. The combination of long-time camaraderie and exceptional musicianship resulted in what Montoya describes as leaving him “over the moon.”
