The Dana Ives Christmas Spectacular returns for its second year -bigger, louder and merrier than ever. This one.-night alternative holiday festival blends live music, local art and community impact, creating New Orleans’ most off-kilter Christmas tradition. Hosted at No Dice, the event brings together bands, creators and fans for a night of celebration, giving and unapologetic
holiday chaos.
Dana Ives, Miranda and The Beat, Reddix Young, Midriff, Neutral Snap and Oversight are slated to perform. Marigny Art Market will have handmade crafts, vintage clothing, prints and posters, jewelry, holiday gifts and zines for purchase.
This alternative music event is also a canned food and toy drive. Event organizers encourage donations of unwrapped toys for all ages, canned and non-perishable foods, hygiene kits and new socks and gloves.
The event takes place Dec. 13 from 6 p.m. and will go late into the night at No Dice, 2239 St. Claude Ave. Tickets are $10 in advance via the No Dice website or $15 at the door.
Dana Ives is a New Orleans “alternative rock swamp daddy duo,” often noted for their genre-bending sound. The band is best described as a musical sweet spot where lucid guitar melodies lay overtop aggressive drums and raw vocals, creating a unique marriage of alternative rock and post-punk.
