Oktoberfest is almost here and Deutsches Haus has volunteer applications open. The mission of the Deutsches Haus is to inspire Gemütlichkeit and celebrate and foster the rich culture, music, heritage, language and history of the German people.

The Oktoberfest event will take place Oct. 10-11, 17-18 and 24-25 at Deutsches Haus, 1700 Moss Street, New Orleans.

Orientation will take place on Sunday, October 5 at 4 p.m., and no registration is required. A Food Safety class, optional for food volunteers but recommended for food captains who have not previously taken it, will be offered on Saturday, September 13 at 1 p.m. The class costs $10, has limited spots available, and requires advance registration. Training sessions for cashiering with Clover handheld devices will be held on Saturday, October 4 at 11 a.m. and Monday, October 6 at 6 p.m.
