A new wave of New Orleans talent is stepping into the spotlight this spring with the debut of Future Legends Fest, a one-day, two-stage music festival dedicated to showcasing the city’s rising artists.

Set for Saturday, May 9, the weekend after Jazz Fes, tthe event will take over The Howlin’ Wolf with a full afternoon and evening of music. Doors open at 2 p.m., with performances running from 3 to 11 p.m.

Future Legends Fest isn’t just another local show—it’s a purposeful platform designed to expand the fan bases of some of the city’s most promising young musicians while putting them directly in front of festival coordinators, artist managers, and music industry professionals. With eight bands performing across two stages, the event aims to bridge the gap between grassroots talent and larger opportunities.

The lineup reflects the diversity and vitality of New Orleans’ evolving sound, featuring Pocket Chocolate, Shawan Rice, Wolfe Johns, Nina Hungerland & Family, Kota Dosa, Joey Houck, Atom Cat, and Dan Souvigny’s New Organ Trio. Together, these artists represent a cross-section of genres and influences, all rooted in the unmistakable musical DNA of the city.

Organizers emphasize that the festival is as much about community as it is about discovery.
