Harry Connick Jr. to Lead ‘Rockin’1000’ U.S. Debut in New Orleans

Harry Connick Jr. will return to his hometown of New Orleans to serve as Special Guest Artistic Director for the U.S. debut of Rockin’1000, taking place January 31, 2026, at the Caesars Superdome.

Connick has been invited by Rockin’1000—the global collective known as the Biggest Rock Band on Earth—to curate a special New Orleans–inspired “welcome” for the historic stadium show. In this role, he will direct an entire act of the live performance, spotlighting local musicians, unmistakable New Orleans moments, and a global celebration of the city’s musical spirit, brought to life by 1,000 musicians performing together in unison.

A global movement, Rockin’1000 brings together guitarists, bassists, drummers, keyboardists, vocalists, and a dedicated horn section to perform iconic rock anthems at massive scale. The live stadium experience features a carefully curated setlist of timeless classics and fan favorites, performed live by musicians ranging in age from 10 to 75, representing a wide range of professions and backgrounds—from truck drivers and teachers to retirees—united by their love of music. Loud, live, and perfectly synchronized, the performance creates a wall of sound unlike anything previously seen on a U.S. stage.

“Music is food for the soul, and Rockin’1000 feeds it by bringing together people from around the world to play and sing their hearts out,” said Harry Connick Jr. “What better place for their U.S. debut than my hometown of New Orleans, a city that eats, sleeps and breathes music. I’m excited to welcome all the participants and show them how we do music in the Crescent City.”

Connick’s career spans more than three decades of excellence across music, film, television and Broadway. A native of New Orleans, he began performing publicly at the age of five and has gone on to earn multiple Grammy and Emmy Awards, as well as Tony nominations, while selling millions of recordings worldwide. His artistry remains deeply rooted in the musical traditions of his hometown.

Rockin’1000 Founder Fabio Zaffagnini emphasized the significance of the event, noting that what began as a grassroots effort in Italy in 2015 has grown into a worldwide community of more than 100,000 musicians. “Hosting our first U.S. stadium show in a city with such a deep musical history is a real honor,” Zaffagnini said. “Having Harry Connick Jr. as our Artistic Director ensures the spirit of New Orleans is at the heart of this performance.”
