Harry Mayronne Returns for 2026 Revival of ‘Waiting Around’

Waiting Around (The Restaurant Musical) will return to the stage in 2026 in a new updated production featuring composer Harry Mayronne at the piano. The show, written by Ricky Graham with music by Mayronne, is a comedic musical centered on the experiences of restaurant waitstaff. The production previously ran for three years at Le Chat Noir in New Orleans, followed by a limited off-Broadway engagement in 2006 and a revival in 2011.

The upcoming run will take place from February 20 through March 2 at the Lagniappe Theater at Rivertown Theaters for the Performing Arts, located at 325 Minor Street in Kenner. Performances are scheduled for Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 p.m., Sundays at 2:00 p.m., and Mondays at 7:30 p.m., with a special discount available for service industry workers.

The Waiting Around revival will reunite cast members Tracey E. Collins, Jason Kirkpatrick, Darcy Malone and original cast member Chris Wecklein, with Mayronne serving as musical director. Amanda Zirkenbach will direct and choreograph the production. The design team includes lighting by Su Gonczy with additional lighting by Camille Griffin, costumes by Cecile Casey Covert, and sets by James Jennings. The production is presented by Some People, LLC and Rivertown Theaters.
