On a recent episode of his Apple Music podcast, Lil Wayne unveiled the latest additions to the Young Money roster—an eclectic and energized crew that blends old-school loyalty with new-school experimentation.
The lineup includes longtime collaborators like Lil Twist and Cory Gunz, as well as rising stars such as Jay Jones, Allan Cubas, Domiio, Euro and Lucifena, a metal-infused vocalist from East Los Angeles who cites Nirvana and Deftones as some of her main inspirations.. Also joining the fold: Poppy, a local rapper from New Orleans, who brings a distinctly hometown flavor to the evolving Young Money sound. Not to be confused with the nu-metal pop performer of the same name, this Poppy has been building a reputation in the New Orleans underground with sharp lyricism and a deep connection to the city’s culture. Wayne founded Young Money in 2005 and since then has signed Nicki Minaj, Canadian rapper Drake and others to his roster.
Lil Wayne has announced that his newest record, Tha Carter VI, which is scheduled to be released on June 6, 2025. This will be the sixth installment in the Tha Carter series, following Tha Carter V from 2018. Lil Wayne announced the release date in a Cetaphil commercial during Super Bowl LIX which featured Kendrick Lamar.
