The city’s very own EDT Dance Team will be hitting the America’s Got Talent stage.
Proud owner and director of EDT, Eyrie Toliver, is a USASF certified cheer and dance coach. She has been dancing since the age of 6 starting out at Mademoiselle Dwyn’s School of dance. From there she danced in middle school at Alice M. Harte, in high school at Edna Karr and in college at Howard University. Reigning as co-captain on all three of those teams, Eyrie was able to gain a greater understanding for not only what it’s like to be a part of a dance team but also what it is like to be the person that the entire team relies on for guidance, advice, choreography and creativity. After graduating from Howard University Summa Cum Laude in 2021, Eyrie went on to pursue one of her other passions: coaching competitive cheerleading. Eyrie coached multiple teams at NOLA All Stars, where she was also employed as a tumbling instructor. After a high demand of request, she went on to teaching private tumbling lessons. As her client list continued to grow with so many talented young women, EDT was created.
The EDT Dance Team has opened up for the New Orleans Pelicans.
Other New Orleans locals to have appeared on the show include Jourdan Blue, once a singer in the Quarter, and puppeteer Ben Martin, known for his work as Poose the Puppet.
The episode featuring the team will air airing Tuesday, July 7 at 7 p.m. CST on NBC. To learn more about the team, visit their website.
