The 3rd Annual Louisiana Cultures Camp returns to Fontainebleau State Park from Friday, January 16 through Sunday, January 18, 2026, inviting participants to spend MLK weekend immersed in music, dance, food, and cultural exchange.
Formerly known as Culture Campout, this three-day gathering fosters cross-cultural understanding and connection through live performances, workshops, jam sessions, and heritage crafts. Participants can attend individual sessions, join for a single day, or stay for the entire weekend with options for dorm lodging, tent camping, or discounted local hotels.
Each year, the Louisiana Cultures Camp brings together culture bearers representing Louisiana’s diverse traditions and global influences. The 2025 lineup includes workshops and performances highlighting Choctaw, Houma, Afro-Diasporic, Gospel, Creole, Cajun, Vietnamese, Filipino, Latin, Arabic, and Garifuna cultures. Attendees can enjoy activities such as Creole-Cajun dance lessons, Vietnamese culinary demonstrations, Afro-diasporic dance workshops, Choctaw stick ball and round dancing, heritage wild crafting, and jam sessions spanning Old Time, Caribbean, and Louisiana French musical styles.
The camp’s mission is to honor traditions, ancestors, and cultures while creating an inclusive space for people of all ages and backgrounds to explore their roots, celebrate diversity, and connect through shared experiences.
