Louisiana Vintage Festival presents Record Raid at House of Blues

Louisiana Vintage Festival will host Record Raid Nov. 15 at House of Blues in the French Quarter. It will feature over 25 dealers selling new and vintage vinyl records and more – including LPs, 45s, CDs, and cassettes. An additional 10+ dealers will sell vintage clothing, including band tees and related clothing.

Featured vendors include Preservation Hall, Tipitina’s Record Club, Euclid Records, Sisters in Christ, Domino Sound, New Orleans Record Press, vintage clothing stores Vice & Graft, Swamp Rags, and many more. The music for sale spans all genres and vintages, and ranges from cheap classics for beginner collectors to sought-after rarities for niche enthusiasts.

This event is a partnership between Record Raid and the Louisiana Vintage Festival – Record Raid is the largest record show in Louisiana and was started by WTUL DJ Hunter King 15 years ago, who had been to similar record shows outside of Louisiana and thought New Orleans should have one too. Chris Olsen, founder of Louisiana Vintage Festival had a similar experience with vintage clothing festivals – and launched Louisiana Vintage Festival in August of this year to a sold out event at House of Blues. Combining forces has allowed Record Raid to expand to a larger venue and continue to grow it’s base.

Hunter King says there’s also a greater purpose to the event, “I’ve learned so much about music history, and history in general, just from wading through piles of records. It gives you a less filtered look at what people appreciated. I want that experience to be more accessible.”

The festival will take place throughout the entire footprint of House of Blues on Nov. 15. General Admission is from 12pm – 4pm, and there is an early bird option for serious collectors from 10:30am to 12pm. Tickets are $10 for GA and $20 for Early Bird. They can be found on sale here.

DJs will be spinning vinyl records all day, and early bird access provides a behind the scenes tour into areas of House of Blues only ever seen by artists.
