Kirk Joseph, Erica Falls, Lilli Lewis & more drop ‘Mask Up! Covid Down!’ music video

A bevy of New Orleans musicians has teamed up to release a music video for “Mask Up! Covid Down!,” the theme song behind a health-awareness campaign of the same name.

The song, its video and campaign are a partnership between Louisiana Red Hot Records, WHIV-FM 102.3 and OffBeat. As featured in our August 2020 digital issue, the song was written by Louisiana Red Hot Records General Manager Lilli Lewis and features Kirk Joseph and his Backyard Groove, Erica Falls, James Andrews, Glen David Andrews, Roland Guerin, Megan Brunious, Corey J the Rapper and is produced by David Villalta.

Premiered during the August 1 stream of the Mask Up! Covid Down! benefit concert, the song and its video are now available to download and/or watch. Other participants in the benefit concert were Tank and the Bangas, Sean Ardoin, Noisewater and others.

Additionally, signature masks and tee shirts are available for sale through Dirty Coast and the OffBeat Shop, respectively. Proceeds from the sale of merchandise benefit Masks for America, which provides personal protective equipment to frontline workers. WHIV-FM founder Dr. MarkAlain Dery, a specialist in infectious diseases, is working directly with the organization as well as the City of New Orleans to effectively flatten the curve in Louisiana, one of the statewide hot spots of the U.S. Covid pandemic.
