The boundaries of reality are about to shift in Southern Louisiana with the opening of Museum of Illusions New Orleans, set to debut on October 17, 2025. This marks the first Louisiana location for the international museum brand, which will be housed in the historic Jax Brewery building at 600 Decatur St. in the French Quarter.
Spanning more than 9,000 square feet, the Museum of Illusions New Orleans will feature over 80 interactive exhibits, including optical illusions, 3D holograms, and immersive installations designed to delight and educate visitors of all ages. Exclusive exhibits inspired by the city’s iconic jazz culture and architecture—including nods to Preservation Hall and Bourbon Street—will debut at this location.
“We are thrilled to launch the Museum of Illusions in New Orleans and contribute to the vibrant cultural fabric of the city,” said Kim Schaefer, CEO of Museum of Illusions. “With its historic architecture, iconic landmarks, and rich artistic heritage, New Orleans is the perfect location for our expanding collection of immersive museums.”
Part of a global network spanning 26 countries and over 60 locations, Museum of Illusions is the world’s largest and fastest-growing brand of privately owned museums. The new French Quarter attraction will be open Sunday–Thursday, 10 a.m.–9 p.m., and Friday–Saturday, 10 a.m.–10 p.m., with final admission one hour before closing.
Tickets go on sale October 3, and advance booking is strongly encouraged as openings tend to sell out quickly. In addition to general admission, the venue will be available for group visits, private events, team-building activities, and field trips.
