This Halloween season, New Orleans Ballet Theatre (NOBT) returns to the Orpheum Theater with its acclaimed production of Dracula, running October 24, 25, and 30. Tickets are on sale now at nobt.org or through Ticketmaster.
Choreographed by Oliver Halkowich, former Houston Ballet soloist and NOBT’s resident choreographer since 2023, Dracula premiered to rave reviews in May 2024. The haunting ballet, inspired by Bram Stoker’s classic novel, explores the psyche of protagonist Jonathan Harker as he journeys to Count Dracula’s castle and confronts the darkness within himself. His beloved Mina fights to bring him back to the light in a thrilling fusion of movement and storytelling.
NOBT Principal Dancer Josh Reynolds reprises his role as Dracula, joined by the company’s 17 full-time artists and 8 trainee dancers for the 2025–2026 season.
“If you are familiar with Oliver’s work, you’ll know he takes an idea and weaves a story in completely unexpected ways,” said Lisa Keller MacCurdy, Executive Director of NOBT. “This version of Dracula skillfully mixes traditional with contemporary, somber with humor. If you think you know what ballet is, think again—you’ll be surprised how much fun you’ll have watching this brilliant ballet.”
For more than two decades, New Orleans Ballet Theatre has been a cornerstone of the city’s performing arts scene, presenting full-length ballets, contemporary works, free outdoor performances, and its renowned Summer Intensive program. The company’s 2025–2026 season includes five mainstage productions showcasing artists from New Orleans, across the U.S., and abroad.
