NOFS & LPO to Host ‘Frankenstein’ Event

The New Orleans Film Society is excited to extend an invitation to the  community for a Frankenstein screening. On Friday, Oct 3, 2025 at 7:30 p.m., NOFS will be screening the original 1931 Frankenstein at Loyola’s Roussel Hall – brought to life with a brand-new score performed live by the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra (LPO).

When Frankenstein was first released, it had no musical score. Now, for one night only, you can experience the terror and brilliance of this timeless tale with a spine-tingling new score by composer Michael Shapiro, performed live by the LPO.

Be among the few to experience this cinematic classic as never before. Grab your friends, family or a fright-loving date for a hauntingly unforgettable night.

Seats will go fast — secure your spot today. $5 student tickets available with a valid student email address.

*Just a note: while mild by today’s standard, the final windmill scene may feel intense for young viewers.
