O’Flaherty Brothers Return for a One-Time Reunion Concert

Acclaimed Irish musicians Patrick and Danny O’Flaherty will reunite on stage for the first time in decades for a one-time-only concert in New Orleans.

For decades, the O’Flaherty brothers were the heartbeat of New Orleans’ Irish cultural scene. Together, they built and operated the beloved O’Flaherty’s Irish Channel Pub in the French Quarter, a cherished gathering place for music lovers, storytellers, expats, and locals. Known for nightly live Irish music, expertly poured pints, and a deep sense of community, the pub served as a cultural cornerstone for years.

“O’Flaherty’s was more than a pub—it was an unofficial Irish embassy in the heart of the Quarter, where music, history, and humanity came together every night,” said Susan Larson, WWNO Literary Critic and longtime patron.

The pub was a hub not only for local music sessions but also for touring musicians from Ireland, Canada, and beyond, playing a key role in igniting a Celtic music revival throughout the Gulf South. Its legendary Celtic Christmas concerts, Irish language classes, and traditional music gatherings left an indelible mark on the city’s cultural memory. Though the pub closed in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, its legacy continues to resonate.

In recent years, Danny and Patrick have pursued individual musical paths. Danny is known for his poignant storytelling and haunting Gaelic ballads, while Patrick has earned acclaim for Caelic, a Cajun-Celtic fusion project with musician Beth Patterson. Their reunion performance promises to revive the energy, humor, and spirit that once defined their unforgettable shows at O’Flaherty’s.

The concert will take place at Deutsches Haus, located at 1700 Moss Street in New Orleans, on Sunday, Aug.  3, 2025, at 2 p.m. Tickets are $20 for Deutsches Haus members and $25 for non-members. Seating is limited, and early arrival is recommended. For more information, call (504) 522-8014.
