The Roosevelt Hotel Launches ‘NOLA After Dark’ Summer Series

As New Orleans temperatures hover in the high 90s, the city truly comes alive after the sun goes down. This summer, The Roosevelt, A Waldorf Astoria Hotel, is embracing that twilight magic with NOLA After Dark, a curated series of late-night experiences blending the hotel’s signature glamour with the cultural pulse of the Crescent City.

Noctourism, a rising travel trend focused on after-hours adventures, finds a luxe home in this new initiative. From candlelit jazz sessions to historical walking tours and French-Southern fusion menus, NOLA After Dark offers both locals and visitors a cooler, mood-lit way to explore New Orleans.

Highlights from the Series:

Rhythm & Roots: A Historic Jazz Crawl
In partnership with Big Easy Walking Tours, The Roosevelt is offering a three-hour guided tour led by jazz musicians who double as local historians. The experience begins with a nod to the hotel’s own musical legacy and continues through the French Quarter, with stops at iconic venues, storytelling, and classic cocktails. Click here for details.

Jazz Returns to the Blue Room
The Roosevelt’s legendary Blue Room—once graced by the likes of Ella Fitzgerald and Louis Armstrong—reopens for two special nights of live jazz. The John Saavedra Band will perform on Aug. 16 and Sept. 20 from 7 to 10 p.m., with complimentary hors d’oeuvres and a cash bar. Tickets are available here.

NOLA Cuisine by Night
At the hotel’s Fountain Lounge, Executive Chef Daniel Mills and Chef de Cuisine Joseph Turley have created a refined evening menu that nods to French bistro fare while remaining rooted in Southern culinary tradition. Dishes like Lobster Remoulade and Poisson Nantua offer a fresh, flavorful take on late-night dining. More information is available here.

Whether you’re in search of culture, cuisine, or cool nighttime vibes, NOLA After Dark promises to showcase New Orleans from a fresh (and refreshingly cooler) perspective.
