Tickets are now on sale for the 2026 Jazz & Heritage Gala, the annual fundraising event that serves as the official kickoff to the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival. This year’s celebration is centered on the theme “From Kingston to Congo Square: One Love, One Music, One People,” highlighting the deep musical and cultural connections between Jamaica and New Orleans.
The gala will feature a lineup that reflects that cross-cultural exchange, including The Wailers featuring Julian Marley, alongside local favorites like Big Sam’s Funky Nation and DJ Captain Charles. Students from the Don “Moose” Jamison Heritage School of Music All-Stars will also take the stage, joined by New Orleans legend Deacon John, showcasing the next generation of local talent. The evening will be co-hosted by media personality Lebron “LBJ” Joseph and Cole Williams of WWOZ 90.7 FM.
Proceeds from the gala directly support the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Foundation and its year-round initiatives, including millions of dollars in community grants and free music education programs that serve hundreds of students across the region. The event not only launches Jazz Fest season but also underscores the foundation’s broader mission of preserving and promoting Louisiana’s cultural traditions.
Attendees can choose from several ticket tiers, including a $1,500 patron package that includes gala access, entry to a patron party, and an eight-day pass to Jazz Fest. A $1,200 option includes gala admission and the same multi-day festival access, while a $750 tier offers entry to both the gala and patron party without festival admission. Gala-only tickets are available for $500. All packages include applicable taxes.
The evening will also spotlight the culinary traditions of both New Orleans and the Caribbean, with food from Dooky Chase Restaurant, Afrodisiac NOLA, Loretta’s Pralines, and other local vendors, alongside specialty cocktails. Organizers are also inviting sponsors and patrons to participate at various levels, with proceeds helping to sustain free cultural programming and music education.
