TURA! Documentary Premieres in New Orleans

The authorized documentary TURA!—from filmmaker Cody Jarrett—shines a spotlight on Asian American cinema trailblazer Tura Satana, best known for her groundbreaking role in Russ Meyer’s cult classic Faster, Pussycat! Kill! Kill! The film will open at Zeitgeist Theatre & Lounge in New Orleans on October 10.

Narrated by comedian and actress Margaret Cho, who also serves as executive producer, TURA! features interviews with John Waters, Dita Von Teese, Pamela Des Barres, and others. The documentary explores Satana’s journey from burlesque stardom to cult film icon, celebrating her enduring influence as a feminist and LGBTQ role model.
