Water Seed Celebrates Digital Fantasy Release with Album Party at D.B.A.

Billboard-charting New Orleans funk collective Water Seed will unveil their latest project, Digital Fantasy—the official soundtrack to their immersive live experience Journey to Funkstar—with an album release party at D.B.A. (618 Frenchmen St.) on Friday, October 24.

The evening will feature a full performance of Digital Fantasy along with an opening set from King Youngblood, a Seattle-based Black alt-rock band, plus special guest appearances.

Adding to the excitement, the new album features an impressive lineup of collaborators, including Garrett “Starchild Jr.” Shider of Parliament/Funkadelic on “Marie,” Ariel O’Neal (guitarist for Beyoncé) on “Black Leather,” and Ian Neville of Dumpstaphunk on the title track, “Digital Fantasy.”

“Digital Fantasy is our passport to Funkstar,” says bandleader Lou Hill. “It’s future funk built for the dance floor—bright, cinematic, and meant to be experienced live with the community that made us.”

The release follows Water Seed and King Youngblood’s recent West Coast tour with the Black and Loud Festival, headlined by Living Colour.
