4th Annual Bogalusa Blues & Heritage Festival

The 4th annual Bogalusa Blues & Heritage Festival is right around the corner, and the fest is slated to feature national names like Keb’ Mo’ and Tinsley Ellis, as well as classic Louisiana blues acts such as Little Freddie King, Jon Cleary, the Royal Southern Brotherhood and more. The event will take place Friday, September 25th and Saturday, September 26th at Cassidy Park in Bogalusa, Lousiana.

Festivities will begin on Friday afternoon with a performance from New Orleans’ Lil Red and Big Bad at 5 p.m. The timeless Little Freddie King will come on at 6:15 p.m. and Florida guitarist Tinsley Ellis will close out at 8 p.m.

Saturday will start with the second edition of the Bogalusa 5K race through Cassidy Park and the surrounding neighborhood at 8 a.m. Live music will then get going at 11:30 a.m.

The festival’s Blues Stage will feature acts like Johnny Sansone and Jon Cleary and his Absolute Monster GentlemenCyril Neville will also join the Royal Southern Brotherhood before a closing performance from Grammy-award winning bluesman Keb’ Mo’.

The Heritage Stage will open with Mandeville High School’s Man Overboard Big Band, followed by an array of New Orleans performers including Gal Holiday & the Honky Tonk Revue and Dwayne Dopsie with The Zydeco Hellraisers.

Day-passes are going for $10 online and $15 at the gate. Registration for the 5K run is $25 and includes access to both days of the festival. Tickets and more information can be found on the Bogalusa Blues and Heritage Festival website.
