The French Quarter Festival, April 12-14, 1996

The French Quarter Festival (April 12-14), which began as a way to lure locals back into the Quarter, is now celebrating its 13th year. Part of the idea was to have the music of Bourbon Street come out of the clubs and onto the streets for people of all ages to enjoy. Jackson Square was a centerpiece of the festival with food booths set up around the perimeter and music provided from the big stage to create the “world’s Largest Jazz Brunch.” Jazz was the music of the festival.
