Troy Andrews: Identity Crisis

Troy Andrews smartly sums up his multi-dimensional musical milieu when, with a laugh, he explains, “It’s like Trombone Shorty presents Troy Andrews and introducing Trumpet Slim.”

Andrews, 18, was first and remains best known as Trombone Shorty. He gained recognition as the talented young trombonist from Tremé who boasted a presence on the music scene since he was literally a toddler. Back then, his moniker aptly fit his image.
