Since the beginning of the pandemic, the live music scene in New Orleans has experienced waves of shutdowns, slowdowns, “new normals,” and illness among musicians, performers, and venues. A new collaborative is working with venues to create a chart to communicate to the public what strategies various venues are taking. The organizers of this survey hope that this project will help live music patrons make informed decisions during the pandemic and beyond and that venues will learn from each other’s strategies and that live music will be consistently accessible.
