Buckshot, Full Throttle (White Trash Records/Louisiana Red Hot Records)

For close to five years now, Andy Songy and Leon Touzet have had double duty, playing bass and guitar respectively for Dash Rip Rock and also forming the rhythm section for Buckshot.

Until recently that is, when the two decided to play solely with Buckshot and record the band’s second full length album Full Throttle. Guitarist Paul Lemle rounds out this cow/punk, liquor-drenched, pissed-off, loud-as-fuck jammin’ power trio.

The album speeds off the line with the fast-paced in-your-face “Better Then Good,” and rarely lets off the gas the rest of the way home. Some of the stops include a hysterical punk rock cover of Queen’s “Fat Bottomed Girls,” and “Sky Fucking Line of Toronto,” from Steve Poltz of the Rugburns. Full Throttle takes its listeners on a road trip of ironic love stories, beer-drinking memories and an all-around good time trip through the lives of Buckshot.

The CD is great, but the music begs to be heard live, so pick up the CD, learn to sing along, and then make it to the next show for a good time.
