Chucky “C” is a talented New Orleans saxophonist who just doesn’t quite make it as a singer. As a vocalist Chucky “C” shows promise on “I’ve Been Right Here” and, stylistically, maybe he needs to stay there. But he doesn’t and this record falls on its face vocally. The title track is an instrumental, giving him a chance to shine on sax with some nice backing by by Donald Ramsey on bass and Tony Dillon on drums. There should have been more instrumentals like this one on the CD. Hopefully next time around, Chucky “C” will zero in on his sax work.
