3rd Annual Six Of Saturns To Revolve Around Jazz Fest At Ace Hotel

This spring, Ace Hotel New Orleans will be hosting an exciting festival series, the third annual Six of Saturns. Sponsored by the hotel’s music venue Three Keys, the program is a “celebration of music, visions and the collaborative spirit of New Orleans.” Coinciding with the Jazz & Heritage Festival, this year’s Six of Saturns runs from April 27-May 6 and will feature an eclectic set of live performances.

This year’s lineup includes: Sound Observatory New Orleans (SONO) presenting the Shape of Jazz to Come, a three-day series of Jazz: Harriet Tubman, Naked on the Floor with Steven Bernstein, redrawblak with Brad Walker, Aurora Nealand, Paul Thibodeaux featuring dancer Shannon Stewart, and exclusive solo piano set with Henry Butler; Ivan Neville’s Nola Nites with musician and songwriter Cris Jacobs, and New Orlean’s Jazz Orchestra’s NOJO 7 with special guests. Doors will open at 9 p.m. on each day of the series. All shows will take place in the Three Keys venue.

In collaboration with the musical series, Ace Hotel is announcing the release of Six of Saturns Live, Vol 1. Released in partnership with Vinyl Me, Please and WeTransfer, the limited edition EP is apart of a local record series in commemoration of Six of Saturn’s success in past years in bringing together New Orleans’ creatives. Discussing the EP’s release, head of VinylMe Cameron Schaefer commented, “The talent contained on this record is testament to both the quality of the artists themselves and the consistent ability of Ace to bring together a cross section of culture that leads to discovery and inspiration.” Six of Saturns Live, Vol. 1 is now available for pre-order online at Ace Hotel Shop for $30. Proceeds from the sale will benefit Preservation Hall Foundation, a testament to the organization’s long-standing commitment to preserve and honor music and creativity in NOLA.
