Arts Day at the Capitol Features Jam Sessions

Get ready to kick off Arts Day at the Capitol with a lively morning jam session featuring Grammy award-winning musicians and a delectable selection of jams and jellies from around the state. Join artists, performers and organizations on April 18th from 7:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. on the Capitol House Patio for a celebration of Louisiana’s vibrant arts scene.

Arts Day at the Capitol will continue throughout the day, with opportunities to engage with state senators and representatives, advocate for the arts, and participate in special events in the Rotunda from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Attendees can start their day with a delicious breakfast with jams and jellies sourced from across the state, showcasing the rich flavors and culinary traditions of Louisiana. From classic favorites to unique artisanal blends, there’s something to delight every palate. The breakfast will be accompanied by live music from acclaimed artists Lost Bayou Ramblers, Buckwheat Zydeco, and more. These soulful melodies and infectious rhythms will set the tone for a day filled with creativity and inspiration.
