Cancelled Voodoo Artists Announce Impromptu Make Up Shows

12063804_10153638768253895_3156897061347099562_n (1)The Voodoo Experience was cancelled earlier today due to dangerous weather conditions, but at least some of the music will continue. Unwilling to be deterred by the rain and mud, a number of artists that were scheduled to appear at the festival have announced make up shows across the New Orleans area.

– Deja Voodoo will present a free show from July Talk and The Ludlow Thieves at the House of Blues at 8pm.

– Members of Slightly Stoopid, Dumpstaphunk, Fishbone, Lettuce, Living Colour, and more will perform at 30/90 on Frenchmen at 9pm. Derrick Freeman’s Soul Brass Band will also play at the event. Slightly Stoopid, Dumpstaphunk and Fishbone were all slated to play Voodoo’s Flambeau Stage this afternoon in what promised to be a collaboration-heavy affair.

– Eric Prydz will appear at The Metropolitan Nightclub at 9pm. Prydz was scheduled to close out Voodoo’s EDM-centric Le Plur Stage before Deadmau5’s headlining set. Tickets to the show are available for $10.

– According to his Facebook page, current OffBeat cover artist Quickie Mart will play a late night set with Unicorn Fukr and Werd2Jah at the Dragon’s Den tonight as part Louisiana Dubstep’s Church series.

– According to their Facebook page, Title Fight will play a house party in Metairie.

The first two days of Voodoo Fest saw headlining performances by Florence + The Machine and Ozzy Osbourne, as well as sets by Jane’s Addiction, Jack Ü, Modest Mouse, Steve Angello, Santigold, The Joy Formidable, Lettuce, Jason Isbell, Alesso, Joy Bada$$ with the Soul Rebels and many more.
