Celebrate the life of House of Blues New Orleans’ Dwight Payne at memorial

Dwight Payne, Sr. spent many years as the VIP Director at the House of Blues New Orleans. He died on October 15 and posts memorializing his life and work spread across the city’s music world.

On Wednesday, October 23, the place where he spent so much of his time will host a memorial service in his honor. From 9 to 11 a.m., the House of Blues New Orleans will host a visitation, followed by a reception from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Thereafter, a second line will proceed outside of the venue, which is located at 225 Decatur Street.

Organizers of the memorial service are asking anyone with photos of Payne to email them to [email protected], as a gift to the Payne family. The family is asking for donations to the Boys and Girls Club of New Orleans in lieu of flowers.

As reported by WGNO, Payne spent more than 20 years at the House of Blues, where he could usually be found taking care of special guests in the venue’s Foundation Room. He was 75 years old.
