CHARLIE GRAS 2019.

In the days leading to Hurricane Barry and the Stones, Charlie Gras 2019 at Preservation Hall set a positive tone with its motto: LOVE and PEACE. Mr. Charlie Gabriel (Charlie G. to friends) was celebrating his 87th birthday on July 9. The beloved and revered 4th generation New Orleans traditional jazz musician (saxophone and clarinet) also serves as the Preservation Hall Foundation’s Musical Director. The Preservation Jazz Hall Band and Charlie G. were in rare form, quickly whipping an eager audience into a sweaty frenzy. Proceeds of the event benefit the Preservation Hall Foundation’s programming.
